Office Policies

This is a brief guide to some of my office policies, which I hope will help to make our relationship as productive as possible.

Attorney-Client Relationship: The relationship between an attorney and his or her client is a very special one, which obligates both sides to do certain things.  Reading my website does not make you my client.  Neither does attending a consultation.  Your are not my client unless and until we have agreed upon what I will and will not do for you and how I will be compensated for my work.

Communication:Good communication is vital to our relationship. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns at any time. The cliché is true – the only “dumb question” is the one you don’t ask.

Appointments: Appointments are always required for office visits.Always.  I am frequently out of the office and in court. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let me know as soon as possible.

Telephone Calls:I return telephone calls as soon as possible.Unfortunately, it is not always possible for me to return calls the same day. Please do not take this as a lack of interest in your case.I find that I do my best work when interruptions are limited. When I am working on your case, I do not allow phone calls from other clients distract me from doing the best job possible. Please understand that when I am working on another client’s case, I cannot always take your phone call.If you have an emergency, tell my assistant or say so in your message and I will put other things aside to call you back.

E-mail:E-mail is better than telephone in many ways, and thanks to modern technology, I have access to my e-mail even when I’m out of the office.E-mail is a perfect way for you to ask questions or provide updates.  My email address is grb@attorneybarron.com.

Fees:I try hard to help clients afford my services, but quality legal services are expensive.I am able to accept injury cases on a contingency basis – meaning that you do not have to pay me up front.  I accept employment discrimination cases on a modified contingency basis – meaning that you pay a small fee up front.  Most other matters require payment when you engage my services.  I accept most credit cards.

Case Referrals: I get most of my new clients through referrals from happy current and former clients. That’s why you will not see me on TV ads or billboards. My practice includes personal injury cases, employment law, consumer law and immigration law – and I am glad to refer other types of cases to other good lawyers. If I can help you or a friend with something, please let me know.
