Fired for No Reason – What Can I Do?

It is certainly unfair for an employer to fire an employee for no reason.  However, it is not necessarily against the law.  It is perfectly legal for an employer to fire people at random, for no reason at all.  The employer does not have to tell employees why they are being fired, or what the reason may be.  Employment in Pennsylvania is at will.  That is the law.

Reality is a bit different.  We all know that employers don’t fire people at random, for no reason.  There is always a reason. Sometimes that reason is against the law.  If you were fired for an unlawful reason, a good employment discrimination attorney can investigate and use the court rules to uncover the truth.

If you have been fired and your employer gave you a reason that doesn’t make sense, or if your employer refused to give you any reason at all, the real reason may be unlawful – and you make be able to take legal action.

If you have a suspicion that your employer fired you for an unlawful reason – because of your age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, disability – or because you used FMLA leave, requested an accommodation, or “blew the whistle” on some unlawful activity – call me.
